On our last evening of a long weekend in beautiful Perthshire, we dropped in for dinner and had such a welcoming experience. Lindsey even arranged fish and chips for my husband although they weren’t on the menu. Cameron served us attentively and courteously, with Peat and Diesel and Runrig playing in the background. Great!

We were staying at the Airbnb next door, so just popped in with my friend and his dog for a bite. It was busy, but we got a table straight away. The staff were super welcoming, the food arrived quickly and tasted good, and there’s a big selection of games. We didn’t stay overnight.

This was my second stay at the Kirkmicheal hotel, both times on a Glenshee ski trip. Lyndsay and the staff made sure I had what I needed to keep warm and dry out my wet ski clothes. The pub’s great for warming up by the wood-burning fire after a cold day, and they have loads of board games. I’d highly recommend staying here to explore the area or ski for a couple of days.

Our car broke down a mile away, leaving us waiting five hours for the RAC. I called the Kirkmichael and spoke to Ralph, who put a pizza on for us even though the kitchen had closed. We spent a few hours there, met Ralph, Lyndsey and lots of lovely people, and our dog had the time of his life getting fussed by everyone. Their hospitality is second to none. I’d recommend this place to anybody.

The place was so warm and cosy, and the fire pit was lovely. We went in for a few drinks with the dog, and Ralph was attentive and welcoming. He recommended a visit to Pitlochry and said to come back for the games in the summer. Ralph and Lindsey were amazing, they made our trip, and we’ll definitely return.
