The Museum Inn

We had a feature room with lots of space, a huge comfortable bed and a very quiet night. Dinner and breakfast were tasty and made with good quality ingredients. Our dog was especially pleased with the breakfast sausage. The beer and wine were very good too, and all the staff were attentive without being intrusive. A lovely overnight getaway with our dog. The pub is cosy and has a fire, and there’s also a separate residents’ lounge with an open fire and board games, a lovely touch. We’ve now stayed at four Butcombe pubs and love the brand. As a Loyalty club member, we’re enjoying the rewards!

The room was great, dark at night, with a big bed, comfortable pillows and a good shower and bath option. Breakfast the next morning was good too. We had a wonderful stay at a The Museum Inn, where the staff were helpful and accommodating. The village was very pretty and quiet.

The inn is in a very pretty Dorset village, and the staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of tea and coffee. There was a good choice for breakfast and the evening menu, and all the food and drink was excellent. It’s very dog friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. We’d stay at Museum Inn again.

The inn has historic character, offers a good range of food and drinks, and the service was exceptional. The loyalty card offers make it very good value. Free electric car charging was an unexpected bonus. Our room was starting to look worn in places, particularly the bathroom decor. Food quality varied, from very good specials to a mediocre pie of the day. We ate on Sunday evening and many menu items had sold out.
