The guy at reception was lovely when we arrived, but that was about the only good part. The room stank, everything was filthy, and there was mould on all the windows. We were freezing and slept in pyjamas and a hoodie, since the electric heater they brought didn’t work. I could feel the mattress springs all night. I won’t stay again.

It was clean enough and in a really good location. I hardly saw any staff after check-in, though that might have been because we visited in the off season. The bath worked, but the shower stayed cold. Heating was just a plug-in oil heater, and it took until day two to warm the place up.

The desk staff were amazing, very friendly and ready to help with everything. The hotel and room are dated, and the bathroom looks tired, but it was clean, including the sheets and towels.

My partner and I stayed at The Burley Court on Halloween night in October, when we were in town for a Marilyn Manson concert nearby. It’s a charming older building with loads of character, and the staff were lovely. Parking was easy and the hotel simple to find. They kindly let us linger a little longer before leaving so we could try the local beach zip line. Thanks again for that. Sorry this review took so long. We hope to visit Bournemouth again and stay here. Many thanks, Dan & Rebecca.

For £36 a night, I wasn’t expecting five-star luxury, and there’s nothing to complain about. The room was clean, everything worked, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Decent value for the price.
