The Norfolk Royale Hotel

We enjoyed our stay on a coach trip with a different company, Voel. The reception lounge and open bar were nice, as was the downstairs social area with its bar and entertainment. It was good to have somewhere to sit other than the bedroom. My husband enjoyed the swim and jacuzzi. Meals had seven options and were served efficiently, always hot and well cooked. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was our first time in Bournemouth and we liked it, especially the well advertised gallery and mansion.

We left by 22:30. In our executive double, I expected a large, comfortable bed, but it was two single beds pushed together, both hard as a plank. The night receptionist deserves credit for trying to find us a similar room, but its bed was rock solid too. We were in room 301. We’d stayed here a few times before and never had this problem. The hotel’s definitely gone downhill. Total waste of money.

Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and all the staff made everyone feel welcome. Our waitress, Maria, was especially friendly and made us feel at home. My friend and I stayed recently and had a beautiful room with a fridge. The shower was lovely and there was a heated towel rail. It’s a lovely hotel in an ideal location. I’d highly recommend staying.

The service was outstanding and well organised, better than at the other hotels in the group. Housekeeping was to a high standard, the bar prices were reasonable, and staff were efficient. The restaurant was comfortable and the food was nice. I came with Blake's Coaches and stayed in room 303. It was very large, though a little tired in places, and there was some outside noise without it causing a problem. This was the best one so far within the Lesuireplex hotel group. A special mention for a young lady from Bulgaria whose name began with “G”. She deserves a gold star.
