Customer service was appalling from the start. A man at reception challenged us in the car park before we’d even stepped out of the car, asking what we were doing there. The place smelled of weed, and we could hear people in the room opposite having sex. You get what you pay for, I suppose. We already knew checkout was at 10:30, but someone still knocked at 10 on Sunday morning to tell us to leave by then. At 10:30, someone was waiting at the bottom of the stairs for our keys. We didn’t feel welcome at all.

The bathroom smelled bad, and though I reported it to reception, the smell remained. There was also something on the toilet roll. The hotel was very dirty and badly in need of refurbishment. I asked to have the bed changed because the sheets were dirty, and the fresh towels we were given had blood stains. Reception staff smelled of alcohol. I later sent several complaints directly to the hotel and got no reply. I won’t be coming back.

I slept really well, thanks to clean, fresh, comfortable bedding. The facilities were clean too, and the place has plenty of charm. This was my second visit, and both times I’ve been given a very warm welcome with excellent service. My triple room could use a spirit level, though 😆. A few pictures were wonky, and the room could do with a headboard. I’ll be back.

The mattresses were battered, and the place creaked so badly that movement upstairs or next door woke me at 5am. The rooms had a strong musty smell too. Linen and towels were clean, but most surfaces had a thick layer of dust, apart from the bedside table and desk. The hotel has good parking and triple rooms, yet it’s so dirty that I think most people would freak out. It needs a serious clean and refurbishment. It’s drab. For experienced travellers, I’d say it’s worth £50 a night, but more than that feels insulting. It’s a budget hotel about 18 minutes from Legoland Windsor. Please disregard the fake reviews calling this a great, clean place. If those reviewers haven’t posted lots of reviews elsewhere, they’re fake. After I posted my review, the owner responded dishonestly and with racist remarks. I asked for two extra pillows and received one, not six. The room was not left in disrepair, though it was in the condition I described. The owner also claimed it smelled of Pakistani takeaway food because I’m of Pakistani origin and must smell of Pakistani food. I suppose that makes sense to the Indian owners. We didn’t eat any food in the room because, as I said, it was filthy and unfit for food. As my reviews show, we’ve stayed in plenty of hotels. The owner’s reply says all you need to know about the hotel. Maybe they should spend less time trolling and more time dusting. For posterity, here’s the owner’s reply, in case they delete it: “Response from the owner 2 hours ago Dear Iqbal, Dear Iqbal, We respectfully disagree with the feedback provided. Daily, all rooms receive comprehensive cleaning. As a courtesy, we provided six extra pillows, supplementing the six already on the bedding. Our staff was dismayed to find your room in a state of disrepair, including an unpleasant odor of Pakistani takeaway food!!! It seems this is your inaugural experience bringing your family to a hotel, and they were notably overwhelmed. You should not be allowed to stay in any hotel.”

Whenever I come back to Bracknell to see my children, this is my first choice. The rooms look a little dated, but the beds were all recently replaced and are super comfortable. I had a fantastic night’s sleep. The staff are consistently welcoming, helpful and polite, and parking is great. I think the price is extremely reasonable for what you get.
