I was in the area for a funeral and stayed for two nights. It was good value, with free WiFi and a clean, warm, comfortable room. Angela at reception made me feel welcome, and the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

The room was very clean and nicely presented, though it did have some damaged furnishings and could use a refresh. Our second single bed wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we had to sort it out ourselves.

Posting for a guest who was visiting the UK in a rental car. They stopped overnight at Welcome Break Cardiff M4, paid for parking and entered the registration number at the console. They have an invoice to show the payment. Later, the hire company took a parking fine from Parking Eye out of the rental charge. Welcome Break said it had no record of the registration and offered no help, blaming the guest even though they had entered it. In effect, they paid the hotel for a parking service that wasn’t provided, then were penalised for it. Emails went unanswered and calls weren’t returned. A frustrating hotel experience and terrible support. The guest suspects this may be a scam targeting foreign visitors in rental cars.

Really clean place, and the staff were lovely and helpful. I stayed for three nights. Would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for somewhere around the motorway.

The location was handy for exploring the city, and the room was spotless, modern and had an incredibly comfortable bed. Service was excellent from check-in through to check-out. I’d happily stay again.
