The bathroom had mould and grime, as shown in the pictures. I know guest changeovers can be fast and staff may not always have time, but this had clearly been there a while and just needs a good scrub. It didn’t affect our stay, though, and we had a nice time. The staff were nice and helpful. We didn’t have a sea view, but didn’t mind. The room was a good size for a couple and the bed was comfortable. The hotel’s well located, right on the beach, with shops and amusements close by.

The Travelodge room was fairly standard, but the service really stood out. Katie served breakfast and was endlessly lovely and polite, even while working early in the morning among grumpy guests. She seems to wear many hats there and handles them all so well. She was quick and efficient bringing food trays out and clearing plates. Blink and everything was tidied up again. She was also very personable and answered questions with a calming ease. Any hotel with Katies working in it can feel like a five-star place. Whatever salary she’s on, double it.

The rooms are what you’d expect from Travelodge: clean, comfortable and secure. I come to Brighton fairly often, and this place always meets my needs. In the rare cases I’ve had an issue, the staff sort it out ASAP. They’re wonderful, friendly and accommodating. I’d like to thank Igor, who was especially friendly and helpful during my stay. The hotel is central, good value, a ten-minute walk from the train station, and the staff look after you well. If you’re after five-star luxury, look elsewhere. Outside noise isn’t something the hotel can control, and you can avoid parking charges by not using a car or parking elsewhere. I’d ignore petty negative comments. For me, the Travelodge Brighton Seafront ticks all the boxes.

At £40 a night in Brighton, this felt like a bargain. The place had a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the ground-floor bar was a nice spot for breakfast. There’s also a Spoons just three buildings away if you’re watching your spending. It’s close to the coast and other amenities, and about a 12-minute walk from the railway station. The bed was the usual large, comfortable sort. The bathroom was smaller than in many places I’ve stayed, but it did the job. There are two lifts serving all eight floors.

The staff were really friendly, and the room was good. I just wish I’d known what the location was like before booking: there are two very noisy bars opposite. Thursday wasn’t too bad, but on Friday the noise from the bars and street carried on pretty relentlessly until around 4 or 5 am. That might suit you if it’s what you’re in Brighton for, but it wasn’t what I wanted. Maybe the warning was listed somewhere and I missed it, so I wanted to mention it for anyone else booking. Thanks ☺️
