The hotel is right in Bristol city centre, which made it easy to explore, and our room was quiet at night. We had a car, so we used The Galleries multi storey car park. It cost £45 for two nights, which felt expensive, though still cheaper and more convenient than taking the train with luggage. The building looks lovely from outside, while inside it’s much more modern. The reception area was bright and easy to find your way around. We’d booked a ‘superior’ room hoping for a king size bed, but ours had a standard double and a single instead. When we asked to move, we were told there’d be an upgrade charge. We paid it, and the second room was much nicer. The plant based breakfast options were decent: sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and baked beans. The room gets busy, so it’s best to go early.

The staff made our stay feel easy from the start. We needed a different room when we arrived, and the team had already arranged it before we even got to reception. That was really efficient and took the stress out of checking in. The Clayton Hotel Bristol is well placed for getting around and seeing Bristol. We had a comfortable, pleasant stay and I’d happily come back.

The bed was enormous, and the pillows were the comfiest. Our room was spotless, and the hotel stayed so quiet all night that it felt like we might be the only guests. The staff also seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs, which you don’t come across often. A lovely hotel, highly recommended.

We were right in the heart of the city, which was a great location. Getting in and out by car was awkward, though, and with all our luggage the pouring rain made it harder. We had a really enjoyable three day stay. Our room was a good size and nicely equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone on staff we met was cheerful, polite and helpful. A special thanks to Aarron in the dining room, who thoughtfully looked after our large party over the weekend.

The restaurant team’s welcome and manner could have been warmer, but breakfast itself was delicious. Reception staff were very friendly, and the hotel was stylish and immaculate. I was very pleased with my stay and would come back. The location is great.
