We booked two nights for our anniversary and arrived early on Friday hoping just to leave our suitcase and head out. The weather was foul, so it was a relief to hear the room was already ready and we could check in straight away. Our standard double was more than enough: spacious, with a big inviting bed and one of the nicest hotel bathrooms I've had in a while. There was a roll-top bath and a walk-through shower. I have mobility issues, but although there was a step up into the shower, the wall handle and non-slip mat made me feel secure getting in and out. The products provided were top notch. The usable fridge and carafe of complimentary water were nice touches, unusual for a UK hotel, and I slept really well. Dinner, which we had booked in advance for Friday night, was lovely, and the wait staff were friendly and professional. We also visited the bar a few times. The staff were a joy and knew their beers, wines and ports well; I appreciated their recommendations. They also offered cocktails we were happy to try. We sampled the bar food menu on Saturday and it was excellent. Plenty of people were having afternoon tea, and although we didn't try it, it looked excellent. On our first stay here, everything was excellent: our room, the service, the staff and restaurant. Everyone we encountered, from housekeeping to the front desk, bar and restaurant, was lovely and a credit to the hotel. If we're back in Bristol, we'll book here again and happily recommend it. Well done to the management for building such a special team.

We only had a night in town for a concert at the Beacon, and wish we could have stayed longer. It's a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff, a large comfortable room and a big bathroom. There was some street noise, but that's to be expected in such a central location. I also really enjoyed the full English breakfast. Highly recommended if you want a quality hotel in central Bristol or near the Bristol Beacon.

This was our second Christmas stay, three years after the first. Christmas Day was pretty chaotic back then, but we enjoyed the visit enough to be happy to return. This time, the room, restaurant, service and staff were excellent. On Christmas Day, Buddy The Elf (Cosmin), Alessandro (Alex) and all the restaurant staff looked after us superbly. I rarely write reviews and am more used to complaining about poor service these days, so I felt I should say a big thank you. Everyone at The Hotel du Vin Bristol City looked after us so well. Thank you, Phillip and Peter. Christmas 2025.

For our Christmas family visit, this was a perfect base for meeting up with people within travelling distance. The city centre location is handy if you're visiting Bristol. The staff were friendly, easy going and accommodating. Rooms are surprisingly plush and spacious, and the upgraded suites feel very upmarket with lots of room. Even the standard rooms are stylish and well equipped, just what you'd expect from a 'Boutique Hotel'. Ours had a fantastic bath and a large shower room, 10/10. The comfortable bed and pillows made for a great night's sleep. Bistro Du Vin serves superb food at moderate prices, with nothing to fault in the meal, even for someone fairly discerning like me. There is a wide selection of cocktails, bottles, ciders, wines and champagne, and really nice coffee too. It's dog friendly. I liked the atmosphere during our Christmas get-together. On crisp winter days, it was a lovely spot for a walk by the River, visiting coffee shops, or seeing Brunel's SS Great Britain. We'd love a reason to come back soon. 🤩👌

We went to the Bistro for Sunday lunch at £39.99 per person. The market table was the highlight, with a good range of salads, charcuterie and fresh bread. Unfortunately, the main courses weren't well executed: the meat was bland and the turkey dry. Service was uneven too. The reception team gave no advice about parking, and the man at the front desk and bar was abrupt and unwelcoming. The other wait staff were pleasant, but overall service was very slow. A table next to us ordered dessert after we did and got theirs first.
