Premier Inn Portishead

The staff were polite and courteous, and everything was clean and tidy, as you'd expect from a Premier Inn. I stayed in a Premier Plus room, which was a nice step up from the standard rooms, with modern decor, a fridge, coffee pod, ironing board and iron, hairdryer, and lovely purple bathroom lighting. The extra cost is probably worth it if you find one of their 'deal' rates, but only for a one-night stay.

The building has two storeys and no lift, which could be a problem. I don't think that was very obvious in the booking app. The staff generally worked well as a team. When I left my key inside the room and reception was busy, even the handyman helped me get back in. The hotel was very clean and the staff were good, but breakfast let things down a little. We got there just before the next batch was due, and the food was really too cold to eat. If it's cold, replace it instead of waiting until it's all gone. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast setup or service, though I'd go back now I know how to find a hot breakfast.

Breakfast was just as good as the rest of the stay, with great food and lovely staff. Kirsty was especially fabulous, smiling, hardworking, caring, helpful, and very professional. The place had been newly refurbished, the decor was wonderful, and all the staff were fantastic. Thanks for everything.

The room was excellent and the location worked well for the area. What really made the stay great, though, was the reception team. The two women there were friendly, good with our boy, and made us feel they were ready to help with anything we needed. After the Travelodge we stayed in the night before, this place felt lightyears better.
