The bed was so comfortable, and our room was clean, warm and cosy, with a nice countryside view. The building itself is lovely, fresh and cosy. Breakfast is continental, though you can request a hot one for an extra charge. The owners are very pleasant and happy to help, and there’s ample parking. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

I stayed three nights while on a work trip to Bristol. The place was easy to reach and my room was very clean. Breakfast was help yourself from the fridge, with toast, cereal and yoghurts, which suited me perfectly. I carelessly left all my chargers plugged in, but she very kindly sent them back. I left on Friday and they were back by Monday. Such a kind gesture.

We were very disappointed and left early without breakfast. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, with springs sticking through, and it creaked and shifted with every move. I didn’t sleep at all. The bathroom wasn’t clean either. The sink tap was so dirty we didn’t use the water to brush our teeth, and we skipped the shower for the same reason. The room had a strong musty smell and was cold when we arrived in December, so we had to ask for the heating to be switched on. It went off at 11pm and we were left very cold. There was nowhere to hang clothes because the wardrobe smelled of mould. I messaged the owner after we’d left and sent photos, as she seemed too busy to speak when we were leaving. We were told nobody else had complained, though after reading other reviews about the same room, that was hard to believe. We were offered a free night, but we won’t return.

Clean enough for a night, but I wouldn’t recommend staying longer or paying for it yourself. I was there for work and booked through the corporate travel site, so I was glad it wasn’t out of my own pocket. The room was very cold in May, the car park was tiny, and the hotel was beside an extremely busy main road. The walls were thin and it was noisy. Breakfast was help-yourself cereal and toast. Adequate, but nothing more.

The owners went out especially to get gluten-free bread for me and took brilliant care of me during my two-night stay. I arrived at 9pm and they showed me to a clean, cosy, comfortable, well-equipped room. Breakfast was plentiful. They were lovely, friendly people, and the place was peaceful.
