The burger, scampi and kids’ spaghetti bolognese all arrived hot and fresh, and we all really enjoyed them. We stopped for tea on our way home from Bude and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The staff were lovely and made sure we were happy. Proper good pub food. We’d definitely recommend it and will be back.

After my brother left, I stayed on by myself and ended up chatting with a random old guy like we’d known each other for years. Amber and Will were awesome, friendly and efficient, and the cheeseburger at the bar hit the spot. The ‘Doombar’ was just right too. I’d popped in to meet my brother for the first time in a long while, and it turned into a great end to an emotional evening. Amber, good luck with the drama, and Will, I’d have beaten you at pool 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Blessings to you all!

The roast was delicious and worth the drive. You can choose one to five slices of meat, with the size and price varying accordingly. There are three meat options, turkey, beef and pork, plus a vegetarian choice, and the selection changes weekly. I asked for beef that was less well done and they brought out a fresh joint. The carvery portion was a decent size. Staff were very friendly, and there’s a large, easy-to-access free car park just off the main road.

A lovely inn with excellent, friendly service and perfect food. I was touring the area and would happily visit again when I’m back next year. Well worth stopping by if you’re nearby. Recommended. Enjoy!

The roast was the best I’ve had locally in a long time, really tasty and well cooked, with tender meat, and brilliant for the price. We’re local and hadn’t eaten here for years. The pub looks dated outside and could use some TLC, but they squeezed us in on what seemed like one of the busiest days of the summer. It was chaotic, with people waiting by the full bar because their tables weren’t ready, including us. We were seated near the bar and had people around us throughout dinner. The staff looked stressed and under a lot of pressure. Having worked in hospitality, I understand they were stretched and doing their best to keep things together. We were told it was roast only, with no regular menu, and take-away roasts weren’t available. That annoyed some customers who hadn’t booked. It was still a great meal, and maybe it won’t be so busy next time.
