The Ashburnham Hotel

My grandmother has spent years working in restaurant and hotel catering, including as a chef, and she enjoyed the meal as much as the rest of us. We each chose a different dish from the new menu, which had plenty of variety and something for everyone. The food was delicious and nicely presented, and the staff were attentive. We’re looking forward to going back and would definitely recommend it.

Caroline and Stacy helped make our wedding day feel easy from beginning to end. They were responsive, organised and full of ideas, and their calm attention to all the details put us at ease. The venue looked beautiful, was kept in great condition and was laid out with care. Our guests are still talking about it. The food was incredible too, every dish looked lovely, tasted full of flavour and was cooked perfectly. Service was quick and professional, with all the food arriving hot so everyone could eat together. We’re so grateful to the chef and his team, and to everyone who made the day unforgettable. We’d highly recommend the venue and team.

The Sunday lunch was lovely, but I was disappointed when I checked the receipt at home. They’d charged £12.95 for my two-year-old’s “meal”. I’d only asked for an extra plate so he could try some mash, carrots and peas, and he didn’t have any meat. Most places charge no more than £4 for a spare plate of vegetables, so that felt like a lot.

The Sunday lunch was delicious, and the new menu is outstanding. We went to The Ash Bar & Grill for my son’s birthday, and Stacey and Caroline made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Everyone on staff was fantastic, with special thanks to Ellis, Harry, Jonathan and Stacey. It was a lovely surprise when Caroline, Harry and Stacey sang Happy Birthday, such a personal touch that made the day memorable. The Ash Bar & Grill really goes above and beyond, and Caroline and Chris deserve credit as the new owners. We can’t wait to return.
