The Abbey Hotel And Apartments

We stayed in the two-bedroom cottage, rooms 15 and 16. It has a full kitchen with a table for four, plus a couch and two chairs. The chairs looked like they might leave me smelling like grandma, so I was a bit hesitant to sit on them. Upstairs are two separate bedrooms. One has an attached bath, while the other uses the bathroom in the hall. The staff were super nice, breakfast was made to order, and there was daily maid service. There is some parking, a lovely garden area, and it's a short walk to the city centre. Strong fans were provided. The bed was comfy, with enough pillows to build a fort. The kitchen had all the amenities apart from consumables like cooking oil. The walls and doors are solid, so there was limited noise outside room 16, though I could hear the TV quite clearly from the other cottage while in room 15. The shower had great water pressure and heat. The detached bathroom could use a deep clean, especially the back of the door, while the attached bathroom was cleaner. The sinks also have such strong pressure that water may splash your clothes when you first turn them on. The stairs are narrow, heel-to-toe, so be careful. Spider webs hadn't been cleared near the windows or entryway. The alley into the car park is narrow, and visibility is limited when leaving. A folding luggage stand would be useful. Both washing machines in the main building smelled like wet dog, and one was moldy. Even after using the dryer, my clothes still smelled like the washing machine. They turn down your room even if you lock the door. I suppose you could ask reception not to do that. Apparently there's a do not disturb sign, but one of the rooms didn't have it.
