Friendly, helpful staff, good Wi-Fi, and a pretty good size parking lot. The breakfast was decent, the beds were pretty comfortable, and there was lots of hot water. The shower pressure, though, was pretty disappointing. Rooms are small but big enough, and there’s no gym. The grounds are stunning and spacious, and the building has lots of charm from the outside. Inside, the dining room is very impressive, but most of the rest of the building feels like a normal hotel. A nice place to stay for pretty good value.

The setting is amazing, with a stunning building and lovely gardens, but the accommodation was a letdown. There was dust built up in the furniture crevices, a tiny television, and a dirty shower cubicle with nowhere to put shampoo. The sink was knee high and the place badly needs upgrading. Breakfast was lukewarm, with queues for just two toasters. What a shame.

The room was clean and had a fridge, but one light and the shaver point didn’t work, and the bathroom door lock jammed. Some information, such as the cafe opening time, was wrong. Breakfast had a good choice of food, though it was cooked individually and hot on the first day, then served cold from the servery on the second.

The charming dining room was a lovely place for a delicious breakfast, and the bar had some really good things on offer. The staff were all lovely and accommodating. The room was lovely too, though the shower was underpowered. It wasn’t enough to spoil my stay. Gorgeous building in picturesque surroundings, and I’d come again.

We stayed for three nights, and it’s a lovely base for exploring the area. The rooms are simple and comfortable, as we were told they used to be university rooms. Breakfast was great, and we had one nice meal in the terrest bar. The staff are so helpful and can’t do enough for you. I asked whether a tour was possible, but they stopped offering it when COVID came. I’d love for them to bring it back, it would be awesome. If I were passing through and needed a place to stay, I’d definitely come back.
