Holiday Inn Express Canterbury

I entered my car details into the machine as requested when I came for a course, but I never got an email confirmation or a paper receipt, so I can’t tell whether something went wrong. The following week I was surprised to get a £100 fine. I contacted Holiday Inn, and they said they’d ask for it to be cancelled. Later, another letter offered to reduce it to £20 if paid within 14 days, after which the charge would go back up to £100. I entered my information in good faith, and still haven’t seen any proof that it wasn’t logged. The car park is run by a company I feel lacks integrity. It’s a shame, because the staff were kind and efficient. But because of this, I wouldn’t stay here or attend another event here.

A budget hotel, but a really pleasant place to stay. The room was comfortable, a good size, and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good. I was surprised and very pleased. I’ll definitely come again.

My dad is recovering from major surgery, and the team did so much to make him comfortable and safe. They helped with his food needs and made sure our room was clean and convenient. Everyone was warm, kind, and genuinely helpful. We had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn Express Canterbury. Many thanks to Mr. Muralitharan Kanagasabai (GM), Ms. Dilashinie Weerasinghe (Guest Service Manager), Chef Mr. Sateesh, Chef Mr. Prince, Mr. Binoy Xaviour, and the rest of the staff for their wonderful hospitality. We’re very grateful and highly recommend the hotel for its people and service.

The setting looks a bit alarming at first, driving off the A2 through a petrol station to get to the hotel. But don’t judge it by that. We arrived too early to check in and popped in to use the loo. When we mentioned we were heading into Canterbury, the receptionist suggested the park and ride at Windcheap. It took about ten minutes to drive there, and the £4 day ticket covered the bus into town, which was under ten minutes. After a few hours wandering around and planning the next day, we came back to check in. Everyone was friendly. Dinner starts at 6:30, and our room was perfectly fine, clean and tidy, with a TV, tea, and coffee. We relaxed before eating. There was a small queue to order, but nothing major, and the staff were friendly. Dinner was lovely with generous portions, no complaints at all. Breakfast was included, had pretty much everything you could want, and was very nice too. We went back into Canterbury for a day of walking, then chose to eat at the hotel again because we’d enjoyed the food so much and wanted to try another dish. We had another lovely meal, though we were too full to try dessert. It was a two-night stay with great food, friendly staff, and a good price. I’d recommend it for Canterbury or the surrounding area.
