Crofts Hotel

I only used the bar at the Croft, where I met friends for a drink, so I can't speak to the accommodation. The staff were attentive and the service was good. There was a friendly atmosphere and a nice range of beers, wines and spirits. I'd certainly go back.

The Crofts sits on a quiet street, but City Road and Albany Road, both lively and busy, are close by. I could also walk into the centre in about 15 minutes. Having lived in Cardiff 20 years ago, I know the city well and would much rather stay in a real neighbourhood than at one of the anonymous chains downtown. It's nice to see the pub doing well, and I'd happily stay again. I was very pleased with my one-night choice. The Crofts had excellent reviews on the booking platform, and I think they're deserved. My room was exceptionally clean and outstanding value. I've paid many times more for worse rooms. The woman I spoke with was friendly and helpful. The rooms are above a backstreet pub in Roath.

The room was small but immaculate, with a great shower. Parking was on the street, right outside the hotel. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was lovely. I had a very nice stay at the Crofts and would definitely come again.

Parking can be tricky. There's limited space outside the hotel, and most nearby spaces are for permit holders. If there's a space right outside, you can park there; otherwise you'll need to find somewhere else. I was lucky to get one just as someone was leaving. Inside, my twin room had two double beds, so it felt both spacious and cosy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom spotless and fresh smelling, and the shower had good pressure and just the right temperature. The hotel was exceptionally clean, staff greeted me with smiles, and one staff member and I had a good laugh while she helped me look for parking. It was quiet at night. My codes didn't work on either the main door or my room, but staff fixed the problem when I asked. I had a comfortable, snug stay and would come back for an overnight in Cardiff. A taxi one way from the hotel to Utilita Arena cost around £7.50. Veezu were prompt and affordable, and the drivers were friendly.
