Future Inn Cardiff

Getting around on foot was easy, with the Wales Millennium Centre, train station, cinema and entertainment spots including Mermaid Quay all within walking distance. The restaurant downstairs is a nice place to have a drink. Our room was spacious and quiet, with a comfortable bed and especially cosy pillows. The bathroom and toilet were roomy, and everything was very clean. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, and the staff were warm, welcoming and professional. A great stay.

The breakfast had lots of food and drink to choose from, and the staff were friendly. Our room was clean and had soap, shampoo, shower gel, a hairdryer, an iron and board, plus a kettle with tea and coffee. There was also a USB socket beside the bed alongside a regular one. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the bay and 30 minutes to the city centre. The bathroom lock broke as soon as we tried it and stayed broken until checkout. We also weren’t told at check-in that the window wouldn’t close properly. When we called, staff said they already knew about it, which left us feeling they’d hoped we wouldn’t notice. A receptionist came the next day and shut it, but there was still a draught.

The staff were helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. Parking was free, and the Bay was an easy 8 minute walk away. I wasn’t feeling well, and the maids gave me space. After a leak in the lovely room we’d booked, we were moved to a suite. The refrigerator came in handy for keeping cold water and a sandwich fresh. The one drawback was that there was no light in the sitting room unless you got out of bed.

The location made it easy to get to the city centre, with plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We stayed over the New Year holidays and found it one of the best accommodation choices of our trip. Our family room was clean and roomy, the staff were consistently helpful, and parking was included.
