Indigo Cardiff

Parking was the only real downside. Since Hotel Indigo Cardiff by IHG is on a pedestrianized high street, the car park isn't close, and it's a fairly long walk with luggage. Good to know before you arrive. Everything else made for a high-quality stay. The location is excellent for exploring, with the city within walking distance. The hotel feels calm and welcoming even in the busy centre. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were friendly, professional and helpful throughout. The modern design felt thoughtful without being overdone, and our room was spotless, comfortable and well laid out. The small details made it feel easy and personal rather than generic. I'd happily come back and recommend it.

The city centre was noisy outside, but indoors it was quiet, even in the corridors. The location was great and the price very good. Staff were helpful and polite, the rooms and bathrooms were spacious, and the shower was a delight. What an amazing hotel!

We took our teenage daughters to Cardiff for Lewis Capaldi at the Utilita Arena and booked two rooms for one night. From beginning to end, the hotel was fantastic. It's right in the heart of Cardiff, within easy walking distance of everything. The bedrooms were tastefully done, spotless, and had an amazing, incredibly comfortable queen-size bed. The shower was really powerful, and we didn't hear a sound all night. Breakfast on the sixth floor was great, and the lovely, smiley young lady serving on Sunday morning was a delight. Reception and bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. We've stayed in a lot of hotels, and this one was fab. We'll definitely be back! Please let all the staff know how great they were!!!!!!!!!!!

The frosted-glass windows looked onto a covered light shaft, which made the room feel like a spaceship at times. I also didn't like being unable to see what the very changeable weather was doing in the morning. The walls felt a little bare, though the “Made in Wales” decor was a nice change from the industrial-looking elevator landing and hallways. We stayed three nights in a Twin Standard room. It was spacious, probably because it had two twin beds rather than two queens, and the bathroom was attractive with nice tiling. The location was excellent, near shops, pubs, the castle, and close enough to the train stations. Breakfast was typical for a UK hotel, served in the restaurant/bar on the sixth floor, where service was always friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed Cardiff and the hotel. It was by far the cheapest of our four UK hotels, so we thought it was incredible value.
