A nice pub with rooms, but be careful where you leave the car. We arrived during a heatwave, and the rooms were very hot. There’s no air con, though they did provide a fan. The rooms themselves were clean, nicely decorated and had thoughtful touches, including a snack larder, Nespresso machine and proper tea. It’s also within walking distance of good restaurants and cafes. Ogof and Milkwood are worth checking out. Avoid Sophia's Garden Car Park at all costs. Our truck was broken into even though it was under CCTV. The cops said it was the seventh break-in that week and they couldn’t catch the criminals.

The bedrooms were quiet and really comfortable, and we had a brilliant two-night stay over the bank holiday weekend while visiting our son in Cardiff. He’d said The Pontcanna Inn was the best pub in Cardiff, and it lived up to that. The building, staff, food and sports entertainment all made the visit feel special. 10 out of 10, and thanks to everyone there. You should be proud of what you do xx

The rooms were so well insulated that none of the pub noise came through. The location worked well too: an easy walk into the city, with the river path and Bute Park just across the river, while still feeling pleasantly removed from the centre. I liked the comfortable room, its size and the thoughtful design. There was even real milk in the fridge for tea and Nespresso. The bathroom was compact but pretty, and the shower pressure was excellent.

I was on the second floor and couldn't hear the quiz going on downstairs at all. Good value, great rooms, and really lovely staff. Absolutely spot on.

That bed was so comfortable, we had one of the best night's sleep we've had in ages. Our room was lovely and spacious, with plenty of amenities, and the staff were friendly and really helpful. We found the Pontcanna Inn for a weekend away and were glad we did. We'll come back and recommend it to friends and family.
