The food at breakfast was delicious, with loads of choice, though the coffee was bitter. Parking at NCP Westgate was easy to find, a short walk away, and the discount code was a bonus. The location is great, right among the bars and around 10-15 minutes on foot from the Utilita Stadium. We were in room 413 opposite spoons and couldn’t hear a thing. The welcome was lovely and friendly, and check-in was quick. We had a drinks voucher and usually don’t try hotel bars, but it was nice to sit and watch the world below for a while. The room was okay, with a comfortable bed and a decent-sized bathroom. There was no carpet, just laminate, and it was sticky. We’d highly recommend the hotel and would return.

A few minutes’ walk from the train station, the hotel is right in the centre, close to plenty of local bars and places to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. Our clean room had good facilities: a double wardrobe, ironing board, hair dryer, desk light, TV, and a good-sized mirror in both the room and bathroom. The bathroom was lovely and clean, with plenty of towels. There was also a generous selection of hot drinks, including peppermint and green tea, decaf tea and coffee, regular tea and coffee, hot chocolate, and plenty of milk. I’d recommend it.

This was our first time staying at Cardiff’s oldest hotel, and we’ll certainly come back. The staff made us feel special and valued. Our room was immaculate and quiet, with a very classy, historic feel. The Captain Scott dining room was plush, and the breakfast buffet had a huge variety and was presented very well. We’ll definitely visit again.

The beds were really comfortable, and I loved being able to have a good hot soak in the bath without any problem. The room overall was beyond amazing, and there was lots of useful information in the receipt emails. The staff were kind, and nearby places and events were easy to get to. I’ve stayed here before and had a wonderful experience, and I’ll be back again.

We had to extend our holiday stay day by day because of a family emergency, and the hotel kept us in the same room throughout. They provided everything we needed and took care not to disturb us, so we could sleep between hospital visits. That made an already difficult time much easier. Everyone, from management and housekeeping to the front desk, was gracious and wonderful. The hotel is a quiet, elegant, well-appointed oasis in a very busy city centre. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
