Travelodge Carlisle Central

The room was clean and a good size during our stay on Tuesday 02/12/2025. The only issue was the lack of sockets near the bed for charging our devices. Staff were helpful and informative, especially Gemma at the front desk, who gave us advice about places to visit and parking. It’s in a great location, and we’d definitely recommend it and stay again. Thanks, Gemma.

A good value, comfortable place for a quick overnight stop on the way home from Scotland. I managed to park on the street outside, free if you leave by 8.30. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good, though the soap dispenser didn’t work. A couple of birds greeted us in the morning.

It’s not bad if you’re stuck, but don’t book a room on the day you need it. They wanted £135 for the night when I asked at 1 in the morning, which is a rip-off. There was no TV remote and the bathroom wasn’t clean. The staff were friendly, which is the main thing, but it’s a shame the little details let them down. All in all, it’s a Travelodge, nothing special.

The hotel itself was very clean, the room spacious, and the staff friendly and helpful. The food let it down. Breakfast wasn’t a good selection, and the hash browns were soft and soggy with no beans. Dinner wasn’t much better, the fish and chips were overdone and the next evening’s meal was no better. I was in Carlisle for work for a week, but after two days my company moved me to another nearby hotel because we weren’t satisfied with the food.
