Melanie made me feel so welcome on my one-night stop in Carlisle while travelling back from Scotland for work. She clearly wants her guests to have a lovely stay. My single room with en-suite was spotless and really comfortable, with thoughtful extras like proper coffee, fancy tea, snacks, a dressing gown and lovely toiletries. It felt like a luxury hotel. Breakfast was delicious too. I hope I pass through again so I can stay here, and I'd happily recommend it. Thanks for the amazing hospitality, Melanie!

The hosts were so friendly and easy to communicate with, and the room was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable too. I'd be very happy to stay here again.

Just a few minutes on foot from the city centre, and the price is amazing. The guest house is spotless, the rooms are brilliant, and there are lots of little extras. Having a fridge in the room was especially useful. It's a country mile ahead of its competitors in Carlisle.

I booked a single room for one night while in town for my university graduation. The host gave me a warm welcome and explained everything clearly. It was a warm room, as you'd expect given the temperature outside, but opening the window wide cooled it down quickly. There was everything I needed, including two kinds of coffee, tea, shower gels and soaps. The place felt homely straight away, something the big hotel brands in the city can't compete with. It's very central, with shops, restaurants and the centre all a short walk away. I added breakfast for £10 and thought it was good value, with plenty of choice alongside the usual continental options. I'd definitely stay again if I'm back in Carlisle, and recommend it.

I don't usually choose B&Bs because of some dated experiences in rural Ireland decades ago, but this stay may change my mind. I got the warmest welcome and was blown away by how beautiful the place is. My assistance dog, Precious, was welcomed warmly too. The atmosphere is homely, with inspirational pictures around the house. My room had plenty of space to hang clothes, which was useful while backpacking with a lot of stuff, and the linen was soft and comfortable. I'll appreciate that even more during the next three weeks in a tent, braving the weather! Breakfast was delicious and great value. It was actually my first proper meal in a long time because I suffer from anorexia, and the presentation encouraged me to eat. The dining room is beautiful, with lovely dishes, better than a four-star hotel. Accommodation was reasonably priced too. I'd definitely recommend this place. It's about a ten-minute walk from the station and close to the town and city centre.
