Cobo Bay Hotel

We found the room small but comfortable, and would choose a sea view next time. The hotel is in a great spot, right across from a lovely sandy beach. It’s a small family-run boutique place, and everyone we met on staff was welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable.

We had a great base for a beach break, with Cobo Bay just across the road and easy access to the sand. The terrace was pleasant for a meal, too. A barrier separates it from the busy street, so it didn’t feel like we were eating right beside traffic. The area isn’t quiet, though, with heavy traffic and construction nearby. Getting around Guernsey without a car took some planning. For other parts of the island, we generally had to go through St Peters Port by bus, and tours departed from the other side. It’s not impossible to explore from here, but it wasn’t the most convenient location for that. There’s a stop right outside and at least three more within an easy walk. Cobo Bay changed my dates without any trouble when I booked directly, and I was pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade at check-in. Our room was clean and spacious, with a nice bathroom. The beds were firmer than I usually like. The restaurant was very nice, and breakfast was fantastic each morning.

We were lucky with the weather during our four-night break over the balcony gig weekend, so we got to enjoy morning swims and those incredible views. It was our first time staying at Cobo Bay Hotel, and the staff made a great impression. Front of house, housekeeping, bar and waiting staff were all warm, professional, and happy to help with anything. The freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches were delicious. Our friend was visiting Guernsey for the first time, and staying here added a lot to his first impression of the island and what it has to offer. We enjoyed the visit so much that we’ve already booked for next year. Thanks, Cobo Bay, see you then.

We’d happily return for lunch or dinner. There’s plenty to choose from on the menu, and the staff were great throughout. We had a window table with good sea views, even in wet and windy weather. Everyone serving us was friendly, polite, and efficient. The monkfish char Sui was lovely and just the right portion for me. Two people in our party enjoyed the trio of fish and chips, and the tiramisu and cheesecake were good too. A really nice dining experience at Cobo bay hotel.
