Cross Keys Hotel

We were four, and everyone left happy with the meal. The food was really good, with generous portions cooked well, and the prices felt very fair. We’ve eaten at much fancier restaurants where the food wasn’t nearly as good. The staff have plenty of charm, and there’s so much interesting bric-à-brac you could almost open an antiques shop. It’s rare to find a traditional independent pub with this much character and food this good for the price. We’ll use the Cross Keys again.

The staff were lovely and friendly, and they even put out a biscuit for our friend’s dog. But that Sunday roast was the best I’ve ever had, honestly. Highly recommend.

Parking is very tight, so if your motor is big, I’d take a look first. I spent a couple of nights there and had a really good stay. The place was very clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and everyone was friendly. Breakfast was cooked by the gaffer and his missus and was very nice. They were flexible about the start time. There are plenty of other places around to eat and drink, so you won’t get stuck.

The Sunday roast was one of the highlights, and we were lucky to be there for the entertaining monthly pub quiz too. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with the comforts we needed and an exceptionally comfortable bed. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. Cross Keys Chatteris has a charming mix of traditional English pub atmosphere and modern comforts. I can’t wait to return!
