About this property

Queens Hotel Cheltenham originally opened on 21st July 1838. One of the first purpose-built hotels in Europe, the hotel is situated at the south end of the Promenade. The hotel's impressive Palladian facade exudes elegance and grandeur from the moment guests walk in. Opened in the same year as Queen Victoria's coronation, the hotel was named in her honour and today the property has retained and showcases original Victorian features that pay homage to her majesty. With a prime position on one of Cheltenham's beautiful Georgian streets and overlooking Imperial gardens, guests are perfectly placed to explore the cultural delights of the most-complete Regency town in Britain. Our restaurant Victoria's serves modern British cuisine and offers outdoor dining and drinking, followed by all-day menu featuring main meals, light bites and salads. And of course you can enjoy our freshly cooked breakfast setting you up for the day. If you are visiting us by car please note parking is available at an additional charge, subject to availability. Parking operates on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.

We had a lovely breakfast together the morning after the party, and the group of us who stayed overnight enjoyed it. The celebration itself was for my birthday, with 40 of us in the Regency Suite at the Queens Hotel on Saturday 29th November. The hotel supported us so well before and throughout the event. The room was beautifully arranged, the food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. I’d thoroughly recommend the Queens Hotel for a celebration like this. Special mention to Norm, who’s a diamond :-)

The location is hard to beat, especially for the festivals, since you can hardly get more central in Cheltenham. Staff are consistently cheerful and fun, which isn’t something you can take for granted in busy hotels. I’ve stayed here many times over the years, and it never changes. That’s both a blessing and a curse. The rooms make good use of the old building and have plenty of character, though things can creak. Parking is okay, but now costs £17 per night. If you’re leaving early, nearby street parking is cheaper. There are a couple of electric chargers, but they’re nearly always occupied, so don’t count on getting a charge. Cheltenham isn’t exactly a metropolis, of course.

The hotel is in a handy spot for walking to the high-street shops, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. We stayed one night while visiting Cheltenham with friends. The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed overnight for the Sunday special, which was £150 including breakfast and dinner. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the food was gorgeous 😍 The staff were amazing, and the place feels very posh, almost like being in a stately house. On-site parking was £15, a bargain. Five stars any day. Thank you.
