The Charlton Boutique Hotel

Our dinner was superb, and the value for money was hard to believe. The service was excellent too. Thank you to the Chef and Maitre D, Jacky and Greville.

The self-check-in setup and lack of personal service didn’t match the “boutique” feel described for the hotel. On arrival, we found a low humming noise in the room that would have made sleeping difficult. The onsite staff acknowledged it and made a brief effort to find the source, but seemed unprepared and perplexed. It felt like they were just going through the motions rather than trying to fix it. We asked to move rooms, but the hotel was full, so we had no alternative to moving hotels. We spoke with remote management at the time about a refund, and they agreed to refund the room. After the weekend, they refused. The follow-up was handled poorly and without honesty: the hotel denied what had happened and wouldn’t refund us. A disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you expect genuine help when problems come up.

It felt like a luxury home away from home. The hotel is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly kind and professional. I absolutely loved my stay. Highly recommended!

The people here really stood out. Sammy, the proprietor, responded quickly whenever we raised a minor room issue, and it was fixed within an hour. Every staff member we encountered, from the room cleaners and repair man to the restaurant team, was helpful, accommodating, and lovely. The hotel is just off the Cotswald way, about a 45-minute walk from historic Cheltenham city. Our room was very comfortable and had all the expected amenities. The restaurant has white-cloth tables and very good food. I really can’t praise the team enough.
