The setting is fabulous and the decor is lovely, and the food was excellent. Sadly, the service wasn’t up to scratch, so we won’t be hurrying back. We came for an evening meal on a weeknight. We told the receptionist we’d booked dinner, were shown to a table and then left without any instructions. We ordered drinks at the bar and sat down, but nobody brought menus or told us where to find them, so eventually we had to ask at the bar. The menu was very limited. The food arrived and was delicious, but we went back to the bar three times to order more drinks ourselves. When we asked for the bill, it came with the card machine. We paid without checking, then noticed a 12.5% service charge even though we’d basically served ourselves all night. I also think £9 for a small glass of wine is extortionate.

Breakfast in the bar was brilliant, and the upper deck restaurant was outstanding. The whole place has been recently refurbished to a really high standard, and the rooms and restaurants are nicely furnished. A fantastic place to stay. The staff were excellent, quick to answer questions and arrange our rooms before we arrived.

The Upper Deck restaurant looked great, with an open view through to the kitchen and pass. The menu is mainly steak or fish, and the meal was really good. Staff were attentive and the service was good. We arrived early, and even when it got much busier, they continued to look after us.

There are three restaurants to choose from, including an outdoor pizza area, and the wine list is very extensive. The food was delicious and served promptly, and breakfast was very, very good, with a huge choice to suit all guests. The rooms were modern, tastefully decorated and comfortable, with all the amenities you could ask for, though a little on the warm side. The staff were superb, really friendly and welcoming. Fantastic place to stay, and I’d 100% recommend it. A brilliant experience, and we hope to visit again soon. Keep up the exceptional work.

The food was a real highlight, both at the bar and for breakfast. Everything was so tasty and well sauced that we didn't need to add anything, and it didn't seem like it came from massive suppliers. Our room was excellent, with everything we needed and then some. They also made our dog feel like part of the family, providing a lovely bed, towel, toy and food, all better quality than we usually get. He was so settled he didn't want to leave. The staff were brilliant and went out of their way to help. We've found our little getaway for future trips.
