The cocktail bar downstairs had a huge choice and was excellent, and the WiFi worked well. I loved the hotel’s unusual style. We stayed in an attic room, where the double shower was a fun treat. Beautiful place, highly recommend.

We got our stay as a Christmas present, and it was great value. The hotel is quirky and fun, right in the centre, and the staff were all friendly. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: I expected a continental spread but got a hot breakfast. The gentleman serving breakfast was especially helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. We’d stay again.

I organised my sister’s baby shower in one of the private tea rooms, and we had a lovely afternoon. The room was gorgeous and cosy, there was plenty of food, and the staff were wonderful. Daniel looked after us and was lovely and attentive. I’d highly recommend it.

Libby, the manager, was kind and exceptionally helpful from the start, and Mimi made breakfast a pleasure each morning with her warm, professional service and positive attitude. We also enjoyed chatting with General Manager Izzy, who was engaging and lovely. The hotel seems to be run by a team of accomplished women, and that adds something special to the atmosphere. Oddfellows in Chester is beautifully styled, with an elegant look and a quirky character. Our duplex room was attractive and thoughtfully designed, with great attention to detail and a very comfortable bed. The bathtub in the bedroom and the glass-doored toilet weren’t to my taste, though I can see others might like them. If you’re tired of impersonal chains and are in Chester, I highly recommend this independent boutique hotel. We checked out genuinely happy.
