We use this place to break up journeys north and south, and it’s easy to reach whichever direction we’re travelling. The location is great, right by the slip road, with straightforward access to and from the motorway. Our room was warm, clean, and acceptable for the price. The staff were polite and helpful. Ignore the negative reviews!

I’ll be back on my next visit to the UK. After a transatlantic flight, I needed somewhere to stay before travelling onward. Michelle at the front desk kindly let me check in a little early, and the next day the staff let me check out a bit after 11 am because I woke up late. All the staff I met were friendly and very helpful. A shout-out as well to the lovely housekeeper Katrina, who I chatted with as I was leaving.

It was pleasant enough, and the staff were attentive. The rooms have what you’d expect, but the bathroom is so tiny you can operate the shower while sitting on the loo. It’s not suited to a family with children to look after.

We stopped here on the way to Scotland and found the room, dinner, and breakfast affordable, with plenty of food. The staff were helpful, and everything was good apart from the decaf coffee, which was instant. Our room had a double bed and a folded-out sofa bed, but it felt too cramped like that. The receptionist helped fold the sofa bed away after I tried and failed.
