Premier Inn Cleethorpes

The room was lovely, up to a Premier Inn standard, but the staff let the stay down. The young man who checked us in on 27th Feb was lovely and I can’t fault him. In the morning, though, the staff member had a face like thunder and wasn’t very polite. At breakfast I was told I had to pay full price because she didn’t know how to apply the employee discount. Staff need to retake their training. I work as a receptionist for Premier Inn, so I know how guests should be treated. Very disappointing.

The room was clean and tidy, as you’d expect at a Premier Inn, but the bathroom smelled of tobacco and the corridors needed a better hoovering. On arrival, reception asked for the name of the second guest, my wife. I mentioned that hotels ask different things: at the Grimsby hotel, they asked my nationality, which seemed odd since I hadn’t needed to provide it when booking. I do wonder what happens to certain nationalities on arrival. Are they not allowed to stay? 🤔

We stayed one night, Sunday 21st September, and the reception staff were very helpful. Our adapted room was extremely clean, though it felt warm and stuffy. I asked for a fan, and a staff member switched on the air conditioner instead, which worked perfectly. Dinner at the restaurant was adequate, and breakfast was beautiful, well worth £10.99. Yaz looked after us and was extremely helpful and polite, and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is a long way from the centre, which is the only downside. I’d visit again.

Free parking was a nice bonus. The team were helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable, and breakfast great. I’d recommend this location.
