Newcastle Arms Hotel

We had a fantastic night at the Saturday Halloween party, with brilliant costumes and such friendly locals. We were there for a four-day holiday at the Newcastle arms, and the owners made sure we felt relaxed and comfortable. The rooms were clean and tidied daily, and the food was great, with a menu offering lots to choose from. Big thanks to Robin and Silvia, the chef, and all the staff for making the stay so good. We’ll be going back next year.

We didn’t eat at the pub, though the food looked amazing. We stopped by a couple of times during our week in Coldstream and were always greeted politely and warmly. Everyone we met there was welcoming, and it’s dog friendly too 😁. I’d recommend visiting if you’re in the area.

The barman gave us a really warm welcome, and the service was excellent. We stopped at The Newcastle Arms Hotel for lunch, and The Highlander burger was on another level, two burgers with haggis, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, salad garnish and chunky chips. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had!

After three weeks on the road, I’ve paid more for hotels that offered a lot less. This is one of the best-priced places I’ve stayed, and breakfast is included. The staff are friendly, the rooms are good, and the food’s fantastic. It’s been a fantastic stay.
