IXORA Hotel and Spa

We ate in the restaurant all three nights, and the food and service were excellent. At the end of our stay we treated ourselves to the sauna and spa experience. Wow, we were blown away! There’s so much to see and do, and we’ll definitely come back. The room was comfortable and very clean, and all the staff were helpful and pleasant. Special thanks to Charlotte on reception for the warm welcome and useful advice throughout our visit. Keep up the good work, well done. David and Katherine Hodkinson. 👍

The cooked breakfast and cold buffet were very good, especially the delicious hash browns. We also enjoyed the spa: a lovely space with indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, a great sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi bubbles could have been stronger, but it was relaxing. We chose the lunch package and thought it was good value. At Ixora, we loved our large room and very comfortable bed, plus the Smeg fridge and kettle. The waterfall shower was nice, with the toilet separate. The bathroom area had a frosted glass screen, so you can’t be shy, though it didn’t bother us. We were a bit disappointed by the views, which were marketed as woodland and lake views. The car park was a bit of an eyesore, understandable as it’s needed, and being beside the bins didn’t help. They could be screened off more.

The scenery is fantastic, with plenty of nice walks, and we can’t wait to return. We stayed over Christmas, from 24/12/25 to 27/12/25, and the staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly from check-in to check-out. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent. We had our small dog with us, so ate in the bar or lounge, but that was no issue since both are so close to the restaurant. Our room was spot on, very clean and had everything we needed. The only minor issue was that the windows don’t open. The lowest heating setting was 19C, which made the room a little too warm, so we used the two fans they provided most nights. We booked the one-night “soak & sleep” offer, with two hours of spa access and a buffet breakfast. The setting was lovely, with beautiful scenery, and the hotel was modern and clean. Staff were really friendly, and breakfast was delicious. There’s also the Snowdonia lagoon just outside for a walk. Would definitely recommend! 👍🏻
