Cromarty is a lovely village, full of history and scenic walks. The hostess was friendly and knew a lot about the area, and breakfast was delicious. Our tastefully decorated room had everything we needed, even fresh fruit. The Victorian house has loads of character, and the location is beautiful. There’s also an honesty bar in the lounge stocked with everything you could ask for.

Cromarty sits at the tip of the Black Isle, on the Cromarty Firth. The Black Isle’s farmland is spectacular, and feels quite different from the rest of the Inverness area. If you’re heading north on the NC 500, make sure to take the two-car ferry from Cromarty to Nigg. Fiona runs a lovely B&B and is a warm, welcoming host. The rooms are large and beautifully furnished, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Cromarty is right on the doorstep, and well worth a wander. After days out seeing the sights, we found the comfortable rooms a lovely place to unwind. There’s also a lounge with a very extensive drinks selection. We were a family of four staying for three nights at The Factor’s House. Fiona gave us a warm welcome, paid attention to every detail, and shared tips on places to visit while helping us avoid the worst of the weather. The breakfasts were fantastic, and the meal we had was stunning. Her food alone is worth the trip. We’d recommend the Factor’s House without hesitation and would stay again.

We’d happily come back to Factors House. Fiona made us feel very welcome, and her homemade soap was a lovely little touch. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of fresh choices, and everything was clean and comfortable. It’s a charming old house that’s beautifully looked after, with tastefully decorated rooms. A beautiful, very comfortable place to stay.

The view of the firth from our room was breathtaking, and the breakfasts were delicious and cooked just right. We stayed for two nights, and it’s one of the best B&Bs we’ve been to. We also had a fantastic three-course meal with fish as the main course. Fiona’s an exceptional cook and an even better host. We’ll definitely book again if we’re back in Cromarty. You won’t be disappointed.
