Sea Marge Hotel

We started with cocktails in the bar, a warm space with a very friendly team, before moving to the dining room for a three-course dinner on a Saturday evening in late October. Everyone enjoyed the food, though I felt the prices were too high for the quality. The waiting staff were attentive and on time, but it was disappointing to see the team setting up and closing down the restaurant while we were still eating our mains, especially as it wasn’t late. It was still a nice evening, and we’ll return.

The Sea Bass and Black Cherry Bakewell Tart are well worth trying. We had a smashing evening in the cosy bar last night, with excellent food and service from everyone. Sonia was especially delightful.

We stayed two nights with breakfast and dinner included, and had a pleasant time. Our sea-view room was especially spacious, clean, and well looked after, and there was plenty of seating in the well-appointed public rooms. My one complaint was the restaurant seating. At some tables set for two, the seats weren’t opposite each other. Because of the centre stand design, you ended up facing the person next to you and competing for foot room.

We came for my grandson’s first birthday. The sea views and location are outstanding, with the beach just a ten-minute walk away. We didn’t stay overnight, but the function room was nicely presented, the hotel was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
