The staff were friendly and lovely throughout, but the changing facilities really let the visit down. There were wet towels on the floor, hair on the walls and doors, toilet paper everywhere, no hand soap, and mould in the changing rooms. The women's changing rooms felt very dated and unclean. I saw renovation photos on the website and expected more, but was told the work had only covered the swimming pool ceiling. While I was in the steam room, another guest warned me about flies around the shower and said she'd been bitten. That was alarming. I don't like posting negative feedback, but people should get an honest picture of the facilities, and I hope they improve.

The manager took my breakfast order and had it made separately in the kitchen, which lowered the risk of cross-contamination for my coeliac needs. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, the beds very comfortable, and the swimming pool was great. I'd definitely stay again.

We went just before Christmas and the hotel looked really festive. The suite was comfortable, with a fabulous en-suite bathroom, and breakfast was lovely. The staff were lovely too. We're going back in early February, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The service at the restaurant was poor. I asked for Pepsi twice and water once, but none of the drinks arrived. I reminded the waiters politely, yet they seemed to forget or ignore me while other tables were served promptly. The building also looks neglected, with dirty carpets in rooms and corridors, a damaged, unsafe restaurant entrance floor, and wear on doors, furniture and skirting boards. The online photos make it look glamorous and well cared for, but that wasn't my experience. It seems to need major renovation and long overdue maintenance. I can only speculate that the hotel may be under financial pressure and cutting back on cleaning, repairs or staff training, but for a place presenting itself as high quality, this was unacceptable. I've asked my employer to cancel my next two stays. I hope management takes this seriously and invests in repairs and training. I can't recommend it to anyone expecting a comfortable, professional stay.
