The room wasn't clean, and we had to ask several times for the soap to be replenished. The windows don't open, the extractor fan wasn't working, and condensation covered the windows and collected on the sills. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains closed well enough, though I'm not sure they'd be adequate in summer. Staff at breakfast and dinner were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was good, as expected, and the kitchen team worked hard to keep all the choices available in a large hotel. For parking, the NCP is a good option, then it's a short walk along and down the road. The river is lovely, but the town didn't feel safe for women alone after dark. We were approached repeatedly and asked for loose change.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and I've never had any issues in the several times I've stayed here for work. They usually put me in a room well away from the lifts and stairs, which makes it really quiet. The staff seem nice, and it's in a very good location.

The staff were friendly and keen to sort out the couple of issues we had when we arrived. The location is good, but the bathroom setup was a real problem for us. Its door is completely glass, so if someone uses the loo at night, light floods into the bedroom. It might be fine when staying alone, but with young children we had to keep the bathroom pitch black in the evening and hope nobody needed the loo at 5am. The accessible room also has a door a wheelchair user couldn't open independently. It only has a double bed, with no sofa bed option.

The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and knew their stuff. Parking outside is free until 8 in the morning, or there's a low-cost secure car park about five minutes away. There was a noticeable strong cannabis smell around the hotel entrance. Recommended for the price.
