Holiday Inn Express Doncaster

I expect a Holiday Inn Express to be like McDonald’s: predictable, with no extras. This stay still fell well short. The room was at 13° when I arrived, with the window open. I figured it would warm up, but after four hours it had only reached 15°, so I slept in my sweater and socks just to get through the night. I told reception, but I didn't get the sense anyone cared. The manager on duty knew there was a problem, yet didn't actively find a solution, which was the biggest letdown. I was travelling with a group and we all had the same issue, so it wasn't just my room. Things go wrong sometimes, but someone needs to tackle them. I didn't sleep well, and the manager seemed clueless.

Breakfast was plentiful and spot on, and everyone on staff was polite and lovely. The room was clean and nice too, apart from a random Coke bottle wedged under the chair to keep it level. I stayed just one night, but I'd definitely come back. A very pleasant stay, thumbs up from me. 👍👍👍

Breakfast was lovely, and the beds were alright. The reception team were lovely too. But the Wi-Fi kept cutting out, which made work and Teams calls difficult. My room wasn't cleaned by room service, and the climate control didn't work, leaving the room really hot even in the middle of winter.

The adjoining door to another room made our stay pretty noisy. We could hear everything next door, and we were lucky the kids were tired enough to sleep through it. It didn't feel much like a family room. Otherwise, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and getting in and out was easy, with a quick check-in and simple check-out. The hotel was easy to find.
