Premier Inn Doncaster - Lakeside

The Beefeater next door was busy, but I was welcomed and seated within a few minutes for both breakfast and dinner. The food was fantastic and the service was great. I've stayed here a few times over the years and it's always been a fantastic visit. The rooms are lovely and clean, and I noticed improvements around the hotel. The team are brilliant and always make you feel welcome. On my recent stay in room 103, the room looked fresh, though the sink plug got stuck. I told Julie as I was heading out shopping, and she said she'd get it checked. Just over an hour later, the repairs guy had fitted a new plug and it worked perfectly. Julie and the blonde receptionist with glasses were both brilliant, and the repairs guy deserves credit too. Thanks to the team at premier inn. I'll be back.

We had a comfortable room for two nights, and it came with the extras we needed: a mini fridge, table, coffee machine, and a comfy bed with spare bedding and pillows. The problem was the premium Wi-Fi. We were meant to have it throughout the stay in room 620, but couldn't access it at all. It didn't even appear in the nearby networks.

For 64 quid for one night, I know it's cheap, but still, come on. The room felt low quality: the fake wood finish on the side table was peeling away so you could see the wood underneath, and it hadn't been vacuumed properly. There were bits that looked like KFC crumbs, and the bath had seen better days and still had hair in it. There was a paper towel dispenser instead of toilet roll, and no note telling you how to make a brew.

There was loads of parking, and we could walk over to the outlets in the morning. We stayed in the annex, where the room was a good size for our family and there was a lift for the buggy. It was very clean and quiet, and check-in was friendly.
