Google asked if this was a romantic place, so I went to see. First there were some gents playing darts, not talking to each other. Maybe they'd been made to play together? Nearby, the bouncers were soaking up the atmosphere and the perfume of hunters chicken. Would these places even exist without BBQ sauce? It was busy. I wondered if I'd wandered into a big speed dating group, then got a pint in the same long, thin glass everyone had. I sipped the froth down to a level I thought might help with socialising in the village. No luck. I was the stranger, the outsider, the one who likes mayonnaise with his chips. An energetic fella was going on about electric cars and the rise of KFCs, but I missed the conclusion. Totally baffled. There was a gym in the basement, lots of muscle, but no baker or iron monger. A telephone box had daffodils in it. Strange villages nowadays, aren't they? I left soon after. I used to picture a romantic village as somewhere called Bourbon-on-Water or something. Turns out, in Dudley, it's a drink with a glacier cherry. Would recommend for Valentine's Day.

Our weekend event for a charitable organisation at the Village Hotel Dudley went brilliantly, from planning through to the finish on Sunday. I've organised it there for the past few years, and we've already booked again for next year. There were 60 covers on Friday and 83 on Saturday. The food was good and tasty, and the service was great. Beth and Mike in the Event's Office communicated really well, and Gemma, Dean, Matt and the rest of the team did a brilliant job making the weekend a success.

I had a really nice evening here for a work Christmas party. The food was excellent, and the staff were top notch, friendly, professional and great at their jobs. I can't speak to the rooms, but if the food and service we experienced are anything to go by, I'd heartily recommend staying here. Top marks all round.

The food was delicious, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. At Jim Village Hotel restaurant last Saturday, I was impressed by how friendly and attentive the staff were. The music made for a relaxing atmosphere, and the place is beautifully designed, with comfortable seating and a lovely ambience. Everything felt perfect, and I had an amazing time. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.

The restaurant meal was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. I had a great stay, with a clean, spacious room that was beautifully decorated. The location was excellent and convenient, and the reception area was tidy and dressed up nicely for the holiday season. I'd definitely stay again.
