We got married here on 30 December, and honestly, I wish I could give it 100 stars. The Mill Forge is a gorgeous little venue just outside Gretna, surrounded by fields. The ceremony setting was lovely, and the photos turned out stunning. Colin knew just where to put us for the perfect shots. The day before, everything was laid out in detail for the wedding day, and the day itself couldn’t have gone better. After the ceremony, the food and drinks were delicious. In the evening they were happy to do off-menu requests too. After all those drinks, us northerners were desperate for chips and gravy 🤣. Our bridal suite was gorgeous and spotless, with complimentary fizz, chocolates and a souvenir for us. It had everything we needed, felt just right for a bridal suite, and we could see cows in the fields outside our window. All the staff were exemplary and went above and beyond. Huge shout-out to Gemma, who made us feel at home and was fantastic with the service, our questions and general chit chat. She really made our stay. I can’t recommend The Mill Forge enough for a wedding, whether it’s just you two or you bring witnesses or guests. You’ll feel at home and have a fantastic day to remember forever. P.S. The full Scottish breakfast is phenomenal.

The piper was fab, and Sandy, the main man, along with the photographer and Fiona, were all beyond great. My family and I are so grateful to them. The staff felt like family and nothing was a hassle. Catering staff, bar staff, chefs and the D.J. were faultless too. I’ve recommended this venue and would again. It’s a fantabulous place to bind your love. Thank you so much.

We got married here on 14/10/25 and absolutely loved it. The meal was lovely, the rooms were really nice, and all our guests enjoyed themselves too. The grounds are beautiful and made for some amazing photos. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I’d recommend it to anyone after a smaller, intimate wedding 😁

For an overnight stop on our way to Aberdeen, we decided to give The Mill Forge a try after staying at several other Gretna hotels. The rooms were large, well equipped and all on the ground floor, which made the stop really enjoyable. Staff were amazing, friendly and helpful too. We’d definitely stay here again on that journey. I was invited to a wedding but didn’t stay overnight. They gave me a room to change into my outfit, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They were smiling all day and had great banter. The setting was beautiful for a wedding, the meal was tasty and piping hot, and the gardens made for amazing photos.
