Hey up duck, the fat geordie’s been down tonight. It was quiet, so we were seated straight away and got the menu. After a little while they came for our order. I had the 10 oz beef bugger with chips and salad, and our lass went for the chicken and leek dumping with chips and vegetable. When the food arrived, it looked tasty and we enjoyed it.

I tried the vegetable Thai green curry, which was freshly cooked and a decent size. The menu has vegan options. The Three Horseshoes Inn felt cosy and relaxed, and the service was friendly and efficient. I visited for lunch last week and will definitely eat here again.

For dessert I had strawberry raspberry sorbet, and with the meal I enjoyed a half pint of Guinness. It was my first visit to the UK, so fish and chips with mushy peas and black pudding on the side had to be ordered. Delicious, and I’m really happy I got to try an authentic British staple! 🥰

The tables have plenty of space between them, and the atmosphere was great. The steak and kidney pudding was the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few. We stopped on the way back from Edinburgh after a university visit. The staff welcomed us warmly, seated us, and gave us time with the very extensive menu. The food came in good time, cooked fresh and definitely not microwaved crap. The staff member who brought the dessert menu was attentive and chatty. Can’t recommend this place enough.

The team were superb and couldn’t have done more for us. The food was beautiful as always, and they made us feel so special during a spontaneous after work meal. Came in on 06/01/26 with my partner and wanted to leave a review to show my appreciation. Thank you again x
