We only popped in for drinks and didn’t stay, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I’d gladly stay here again. My single room was spotless and very comfortable, with a lovely bed that helped me sleep really well. There wasn’t a hairdryer, but Sandra quickly brought me one, along with a non-slip shower mat. I ate in the restaurant on my first evening and had an excellent meal. One small observation, not a criticism: having sanitary disposal bags available would help avoid embarrassment for both guests and staff. Looking forward to my next visit.

As an Ellesmere resident, this is a genuine review. The place has been renovated to an exceptional standard throughout, and the staff and owners are courteous and friendly. When we’ve eaten in the restaurant, the food has been freshly prepared, and the seating is comfortable. For coffee or a bar meal, the bar area is bright and comfortable too.

I hadn’t been in for years, so the thorough modernisation and refurbishment really surprised me. It feels totally different now. The bar was busy and there’s a good choice of beers. I tried a few different ales and enjoyed myself so much I can’t remember leaving. I’ve had plenty of drunken nights here over the years. Very good, well done to everyone involved. I like it.
