Holiday Inn Express Exeter - City Centre

Breakfast buffet is included, and there are plenty of good restaurants close by. The hotel’s near the city centre, the showers are hot and powerful, the WiFi is excellent, and the beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean, spacious and in the style of a Holiday Inn. Check-in was quick, with all the information explained, and there’s a lift to every floor. The small car park was full, all the spaces taken by students staying in the halls. I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

I’ve never stayed at a better hotel. The manager leads by example: professional, kind, courteous, welcoming and accommodating. They’re also brilliant at finding lost phones and even fixing them. I’m so happy with the stay and would absolutely recommend it. From now on, I’ll choose a Holiday Inn every time 💙.

The location is great, and the woman on reception at check-in was super helpful. It was an okay stay during a busy time of year, but the room needed more cleaning. There was a stray hair in the bathroom and the carpet needed attention. Some of the male staff the next day seemed to acknowledge only male guests. When I left my key in the box, they looked at me awkwardly instead of offering a basic “Morning” or “Thank you.” Everyone staying there has paid, so guests should be acknowledged. I noticed the same thing at breakfast, where men were greeted first. Breakfast itself was okay, and they had gluten-free bread and cereal, but the beans tasted like they’d been sitting out for a while, even though I was up relatively early. If you’re a light sleeper on the first floor, bring earplugs, since you can hear the kitchen setting up.

Jordan welcomed us with a smile and a good sense of humour, which really lifted our spirits. We were visiting from Plymouth for just one night and had run into a few problems on the way, so we arrived a bit stressed, although well before check-in time. He even managed to check us in early. Great customer service, and we’ll definitely stay again.
