The food was a lovely finish to the evening, and the rooms were far nicer in person than the photos suggested: spotless, comfortable and full of character. After a long drive, it felt like a treat rather than just somewhere to stop. I arrived at Best Western Brome Grange around 6:15pm on 12th February. Miranda at reception made settling in easy, greeting me warmly and explaining parking, how things worked and what was available on-site without overwhelming me. She was thoughtful and clearly cared that guests felt looked after. I stay in hotels around the country quite often, and the rooms and staff make this place stand out. Miranda is a real credit to the team. I’d choose to stay here again without hesitation. Thanks to her and everyone at Brome Grange.

I’ve been staying here for work on and off for 6 to 7 years, and the service has stayed at a high standard. The staff and management deserve credit for that. The food is always fresh and really well prepared, so compliments to the chef. After chatting with staff earlier in the day, then Kate and Linzi at reception that evening, I can only say the hotel feels wonderfully friendly.

For a 3 star hotel, I found it very reasonably priced, and I’d happily stay again. The rooms were clean and spacious, there was a gym, and the bar and restaurant were good. Staff throughout were very friendly and professional.

Lee was especially helpful, and the staff were pleasant overall. The food was good too, though the drinks were far too expensive: £6.50 for a pint of Guinness. There were several problems in the room. The wardrobe was awkwardly designed, with clothes going in crossways and no hangers on the left, so it was fiddly to reach things behind. Water from the shower ended up across the bathroom floor instead of all going down the plug hole. The bedside lights didn’t work, though one was fixed, and the TV wasn’t tuned. It couldn’t tune automatically because of a weak signal, but staff sorted that after I mentioned it. I wasn’t keen on the location beside a very busy main road, and I’m unsure whether I’d return. Price was the main draw. I booked through the Great Western web site, which was misleading: it showed the same room with free breakfast as dearer than without. When I called, they said they’d had this complaint many times, blamed the web site designers, and said the higher price was correct. Why haven’t they done something about it?

A lovely little find tucked behind a walled garden on A140. The room was marvellous in size, the shower had hot water straight away, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful, doing everything they could to make the stay perfect. The mattress was a bit firm for my taste, but fine for a one night stopover. Go, you won’t be disappointed.
