We’d definitely stay again. The rooms were brilliant, the shower was excellent, the beds comfortable, and the temperature control worked well. The restaurant served top-quality food, though it may be pricey for some. The first-class breakfast, which was included, surely makes up for that. Great service, too.

The rooms had lovely amenities, including sumptuous double four-posters, and even canine guests were made welcome with care for the comfort of others. The owners are completely committed to client satisfaction, and the hospitality was sublime throughout. The chefs really know their stuff, and the owners’ passion for food came through in the service. Everything was faultlessly done. The wine list was just the right size, with well-judged prices. The wines by the glass were excellent and keenly priced, so either way felt comfortable. A most enjoyable visit and well worth the price.

The breakfast next morning was very nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were closed because it was Monday, so I made do with the excellent biscuits in the room. It’s a quiet, out-of-the-way hotel, and the room was extremely comfortable, well appointed, and finished to a high standard. Well worth a stay.

The only good thing was the staff. They were lovely and couldn’t have done more for us, but we left disappointed and hungry. I’d always wanted to visit, and we went for my birthday after my family had travelled up from Cheshire in the north. The food and drinks came to a staggering £1200. We would never go back and wouldn’t recommend it.
