The Southgate Bed And Breakfast

We went to Hunmanby to look at houses, and Chris and Julie spent ages sharing advice about the best areas and walks. They couldn’t have done more to help us, and we’re very grateful for how welcome they made us feel. We’re returning soon to view more houses and have already decided to stay at the Southgate again. It’s also well placed for shops, pubs and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with big, lovely towels, a walk-in shower, and tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was really good, and Chris and Julie were such great hosts. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

Chris cooked us a lovely breakfast the next morning, and we’ll definitely stay again. Julie greeted us as soon as we arrived and was lovely. The B&B was really nice, and you can walk to Filey from there.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and there were books and a DVD library to browse. Breakfast was good, with vegetarian options too. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming, and offered suggestions for places to eat and visit. It’s in a handy spot, with pubs and restaurants within an easy walk, the beach about 3.5 miles away, and a whisky distillery at the end of the street. A superb place. Totally recommend!

The cooked breakfast was made to order and very nice. The couple who run the place gave us a lovely, warm welcome when we arrived. Our room had everything we needed and a very comfortable bed. From booking in to checking out, it was an excellent experience and good value for money.
