The bistro was a highlight, tasty food and such generous portions that we couldn't quite manage them. There was a good cocktail choice too. Our family room was roomy, and we made use of the gym, pool and spa. The pool was a lovely temperature, parking was easy, and the location worked brilliantly. The parrot made a bit of noise in the bar during the evening, but settled down at night. We stayed one night and thought it was great value. We'd happily recommend it.

Mo made the stay, really friendly and helpful. The gym had a wide range of equipment, and the swimming pool was great. Room 23 felt a little dated, but I still enjoyed my visit. Breakfast was hot and good. If I'm back in Forfar, I'll stay at the Royal again, especially with Mo hosting.

A great stay. The rooms were fantastic, the food was great, and the staff and service were faultless.

We got a bonus of being able to use the gym and pool, and the breakfast staff were so pleasant. One lady was chatty and remembered the next day where we'd been, asking how our day went. The food was delicious, with very large portions, and all the staff were friendly. Lovely hotel, highly recommend.

Just a cheap, cheerful bed for the night. The breakfast was delicious, and I loved the parrot.
