Rioshouse George-Inn

The room was amazing and very clean. Staff were friendly, kept it tidy and replenished the bottles of water, tea and other bits. There’s good parking at the inn. The location was perfect, with shops right outside and lots of lovely places to eat. The train station isn't far, so getting to London was easy. Would definitely recommend.

We slept really well at the Rooshouse George and had a nice view of the church across the road. There were lots of cars in the car park for the shops opposite, though.

We were really disappointed with Rioshouse George Inn. There was a lot of rubbish outside when we arrived, and the building didn't look great. The room was mediocre, with poor quality bedding, leftover drinks in the fridge, and grit and hairs on the floor. There was orange mould throughout the bathroom, the toilet wasn't clean, and the extractor fans were dusty. We could smell smoke as soon as we went in, especially in the bathroom, despite the property's website strongly advertising it as non-smoking. We rushed out to a party nearby and felt so uncomfortable about going back that we packed our bags and left when we returned. Wouldn't recommend it. Rooms should be clean when guests arrive.

We had kids with us and ended up leaving early because the very loud music from the restaurant and cocktail bar downstairs carried up to the apartment late into the night, until the early hours. The apartment itself was clean, well appointed and had great amenities, but the location above the busy bar was a problem. The owners were good about agreeing to a refund. The same apartments would be great away from a nightclub.
