The food was fresh, delicious and thoughtfully presented, and the room was spotless and comfortable, ready for us to relax as soon as we arrived. Staff made us feel genuinely welcome with warm, attentive service. Everything from check-in through check-out was handled with care and professionalism. We had a wonderful stay last night and would happily return or recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable, memorable visit.

Breakfast was delicious, with cereal, yogurts, a fry-up, juice, toast, tea and coffee, and it all went down a treat. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable with everything we needed. The hairdryer didn't work, though I didn't need it anyway. Thanks to everyone, we'll definitely be back!

The room was spotless and fresh, just right for what we needed, and the decor was lovely. There was even a charging point built into the bedside lamps. A staff member greeted us so warmly that we felt welcome straight away. The hotel is perfectly placed for the OVO and shopping. Really pleasant stay, five stars from me 😊. Highly recommend it, and it feels worth more than they charge.

We booked the small double for one night, and it was cosy, clean and nicely furnished. The bed was really comfy, the radiators were on during a freezing night, and the bathroom was very clean. That shower had so much power I nearly blasted the head off when I switched it on 😂. Breakfast had a great range, including a hot buffet, cold options, three juices, hot drinks, fruit and toast. The staff were lovely and helpful at breakfast too. We came for a gig at the Hydro, a handy 15-minute walk away, and arrived at 11.30 pm after driving straight up from Newcastle after work. Late check-in was no problem, and reception was pleasant and helpful. We slept well and would stay again, 10/10 ❤️. One thing for next time: there wasn't a do-not-disturb sign in the room, and housekeeping knocked at 9 am while we were waking up and in the shower. A door sign would help.

For a night out at somewhere like the OVO, this place is ideal, though I wouldn't choose it for a week-long holiday. It's a three-star hotel, so keep your expectations there. The clean room was nicely presented, and the head housekeeper running breakfast was especially friendly and attentive. Breakfast was a bit below average, with clearly cheap meat that wasn't kept very hot. If the car park is full, the advertised on-street parking is limited to three hours. Traffic noise was bad; only on the last day did we discover the upper window hadn't shut properly, and we couldn't close it ourselves. The mattress was comfortable but much too small for the frame, with pillows stuffed down the sides. The shower kept switching from cold to very hot and then back to the temperature you wanted. Reception service cost it another star: other guests asking about local amenities got no useful advice, and when we came back in the evening the receptionist was too absorbed in his phone to respond to our hello.
